Hello and welcome to Speech Bubbles: A blog about the love of comic books. While there is no earth shaking mission statement behind this blog, it will be a place for reviews and comment, as well as exploring a hopefully renewed interest in the comics of DC thanks to their New 52 project. The idea behind the last item on that list is that comic fansites and blogs are often written by experts, for experts. While we a thing or two about a thing or two,Speech Bubbles is not written by superfans. As such, we  hoping to come at the New 52 with fresher eyes and gauge how successful and worthwhile a dramatic reboot has been.

Dan Phillips 

A freelance journalist based in the UK, Dan specialises in entertainment and hobby writing as a contributor to various magazines and websites covering videogames, film, comic books and so on. He began reading comics in the mid nineties by devouring UK reprints of X-Men stories, starting with The Age of Apocalypse.
